Basic Stove Fitting (Existing Chimney)
It is recommended that all Wood Stoves if being fitted into an existing chimney should be connected to the outside by a flexible flue liner and connecting parts. Further more it is also recommended that the liner should be 6 inch diameter if you intend to burn wood . This improves the stoves efficiency and most importantly reduces the risk of house fires and carbon monoxide poisoning.

Fitting a wood burning stove or fire carries no stipulation that the work cannot be carried out by a DIY enthusiast. All work however does have to comply with Part J of the building regulations..
